As the Director of the City of Long Beach Health and Human Services Department, Ms. King oversees a vast array of initiatives aimed at promoting public health, well-being, and social equity. With responsibility for seven bureaus, 55 programs, and over 480 dedicated employees, she brings strategic vision and collaborative leadership to the forefront of her role.

Prior to her current position, Ms. King served as Bureau Manager and Deputy Director at the Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach, where she managed a diverse team and oversaw a substantial budget dedicated to subsidized rental assistance programs. Under her leadership, the Housing Authority achieved remarkable milestones, including increased voucher allocations, expansion of affordable housing stock, and successful partnerships to support individuals experiencing homelessness.
Ms. King's commitment to excellence is underscored by her track record of receiving outstanding ratings from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and her role in pioneering initiatives such as the successful leaseup of Emergency Housing Vouchers.
