Dr. Ebony Nicole Funches, DNP, AG-ACNP-BC, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice currently working in Family Practice, Psychiatry, and Street Medicine at Venice Family Clinic in Los Angeles, California. She is triple board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Funches completed her Doctorate at the Marybelle and S. Paul Musco School of Nursing and Health Professions in Irvine, California. Her doctoral work explored the integration of a multimedia-based patient education program and its impact on pre-diabetic adults at a Community Health Center. She is passionate about providing quality healthcare to underserved populations and reducing health disparities.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Funches is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Boise State University, where she teaches in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, fine dining, spending time with friends and family, and mentoring aspiring nurses. She recently achieved a personal milestone by running her first marathon in March at the LA Marathon’s 40th anniversary. Additionally, she is a published co-author of a case report on Pseudohypoparathyroidism, featured in the Archives of Surgery and Clinical Case Reports.
